Mrs. Catherine "Peaches" Allen of 525 Haverford Drive, Columbus, passed Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the Muscogee Manor Nursing Facility. She was 67 years old.
A native of Phenix City, AL, Mrs. Allen was born October 10, 1940 to the late Kelsie and Sarah Kelley Davis. A member of the Franchise Missionary Baptist Church, Mrs. Allen served with the Mass Choir, Missionary Society, and the Deacons Wives' Ministry. She was also a member of the American Business Women's Association, the United Voices and the Socialites. She was retired from the Columbus Regional Medical Center after 25 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Moses Allen; a stepson, Edward Thomas; and sixteen siblings. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Drakes (Emanuel) of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Kamryn Drakes, Zachary "Drew" Drakes and Hayley Drakes; two sisters, Sarah M. Pass of Phenix City and Mary P. Harris (Clarence) of Sicklerville, NJ; three devoted nieces, Veronica Williams (Walter), Mary Hughes and Gloria Brown; two devoted nephews, Raymond Wise and Paul Pass, Jr. (Terri); and a host of other relatives, loving and devoted friends and neighbors. Homegoing Services for Mrs. Allen will be Monday, 12 Noon at Franchise Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Raymond Cochran, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation is Sunday, 12 til 4 p.m. at the funeral home. The cortege will depart from the residence at 11:15 a.m. the day of the service. Arrangements entrusted to the staff of Progressive Funeral Home, Inc.
