Mrs. West, 81, of Purcell, was the oldest child born to Cecil and Mamie Mullins Allcorn. Kay grew up in and spent nearly her entire life in the Purcell community that she loved.

She married Doyle West on January 25, 1958, and they made their home in Purcell. To this union, a daughter, Judy Lynn was born.

While in high school she had worked at the Canadian Theater in Purcell. Upon graduating from Purcell High in the “Class of ‘52” she began her career with the McClain County Court Clerk office.

Later, she worked for the Purman Wilson Law Firm and then Farmers Home Administration. Farmers Home, a division of the USDA, she was employed as a county office assistant and retired after many years of service.

Being a grandmother to her three grandsons involved some of her sweetest and most enjoyable times of her life. Watching them play baseball or showing livestock, “Grandma K” was always there.

She was very active in Purcell First Baptist Church, her bridge club, OSU Home Extension, and the Purcell Alumni for years.
