Joe Manuel Alires passed away August 4, 2009 in Gunnison, Utah at the age of 35. He was born October 12, 1973 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Margaret Castro and Roy Alires. He married Brandi Smith on May 19, 2007.
Joe Manuel loved the outdoors. He loved to be up in the mountains barbequing, listening to music, and spending time with his family. He was a very funny, energetic and outgoing person. Joe loved making people laugh and telling jokes. He loved his wife and children very much. He loved all his family very much. He was a very hard worker and when he put his mind to accomplishing a task he wouldn't quit until it was done. We all love him and miss him very much. He will live on with us forever in our hearts.
Joe Manuel is survived by his wife; son, Issac Montoya; daughter, Shilo Jo Leigh Alires; his parents; five sisters, Angel, Anna, Rosie Tiffany, Christine and brother, Roger. Also survived by his in-laws, Raymond, Debbie, Jesse, Jessica Montoya, Mike (Lili) Smith, Dorothy Bland and Brian Bland.
Preceded in death by his grandfather, Liberto Garcia, Rogerio Alires and grandmothers, Francis Garcia and Carrie Castandaneta.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 12th, 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6- 8 p.m. at the mortuary and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, a trust has been set up at Zions Bank in the name of Joe Manuel Alires to help with funeral expenses.
