Bruce 'Bun' Alford, 71, of Hamlin, Lincoln County, died March 11, 1989, in St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and was a Mason. Surviving: wife, Jessie Settles Alford; sons, James of Hamlin, Clayton of Fraziers Bottom, Joe of Albuquerque, N.M., and Kenny of West Hamlin; daughters, Doris Triplett and Darlene Neil, both of Hamlin, Phyllis Prichard of Culloden; brothers, Tom of Teays Valley and Fred of Sod; sisters, Verlie Cross of Parkersburg, Amy Thomas of Nitro and Reva Alford of Hamlin; 11 grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, with the Rev. Forest Curry officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park, Hamlin, with Masonic graveside rites. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
