Lilah Alf, better known as Tex, a longtime Everett resident, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 1998, in Orange, California, where she had been living since 1994.
Tex's health forced her to move from Everett so her oldest daughter, Darlene Ross, could care for her. Tex was born in LaHoma, then a part of the Oklahoma Indian Territory. Her folks later moved to Perryton, Texas where Lilah married in her late teens. She and her family moved from Perryton to Everett in 1950. She worked mainly as a seamstress while living in Everett. The last 11 years prior to her retiring was at Sound Casket where she sewed in casket liners. Tex joined the American Legion shortly after coming to Everett and remained an active member for 35 years.
Tex is survived by two daughters, Darlene Ross and Brenda Constant; five grandchildren, Debbie Varner, Kenneth Eliason, David Eliason, Rick Winkley, and Robin Ells; and several great-grandchildren.
