Sunday morning at 7:30 oclock, Mrs. Sarah Alexander, wife of James H. Alexander passed away in death at the family home 8/1/2 miles northeast of Decatur, after an illness of about ten days. The lady was prostrated by a severe attack of pneumonia.
She was past 50 years of age. Mrs. Alexander has been a resident of Macon county for over forty years. Her children are Joseph Alexander, Edgar Alexnader and Ottie Alexander.
Sarah Ann Alexander was born March 17, 1836 near Belleville, Ill and was married Oct, 17, 1860. Her father was one of the early settlers of Illinois and a prominent man in the southern part of the state.
The funeral will take place from the residence at 10 am Wednesday, Jan. 18. Dr. E. W. Moore officiating. Interment in Greenwood cemetery.
