Funeral services for John E. Alexander, 63, of 2506 Swiss St., West Monroe, were to be at 10 a.m. today at Mulhearn Funeral Home chapel in West Monroe with the Rev. Clifton Tennison officiating.

Burial was to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe.

Mr. Alexander died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe after a long illness.

He was a clerk with Illinois Central Railroad and a member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Geneva Alexander of West Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Louise McNaughton and Mrs. Lodee Hall, both of West Monroe; four brothers, Murray Alexander, Claude Alexander, Arvell Alexander and James Alexander, all of West Monroe.
