Herman Alexander age 80, of Joliet, Illinois, formerly of Salem, passed away Friday Sept. 30, 2011 in Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Survivors include: 2 Sons: Steven (Debra) Alexander and Anthony (Barb) Urbancic; 1 Daughter: Elizabeth (Emil) Engelman; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 1 Sister-in-law: Faye Tye and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Marie Alexander; Parents: Charles and Mary Alexander; Brothers: Loman, Russell, Ralph and Roger; Sisters: Nellie, Betty and Marjorie; Sisters-in-law: Wanda, Edith and Frances.
He retired from Material Services Corp. after 36 years of service and was a U. S. Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean war. Herman enjoyed boating, fishing and watching baseball and basketball.
Funeral Service: 11 am Tuesday October 11, 2011 at the Dawalt Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Holler officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 pm and after 10 am Tuesday. Interment in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
