Alice Statham Aldrich, age 90, died December 20, 2011 in Houston.
Born in Galveston to A. Crawford & Daisy C. Statham, moved to Edinburg in 1925, where she met and married her husband of 52 years, Oliver C. Aldrich, Jr. She attended Edinburg High School , where she was a charter member of the Sergeanettes, and attended Edinburg Jr. College . She had lived in Houston for the last 50 years.
She began her career as an executive secretary, and attained the designation of Professional Secretary. At her retirement, she was a Vice President, with responsibilities for the company employee benefits plans. She faithfully served in her churches, and was a member of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, sister: Margaret Statham Carlson and by a grandson. She is survived by her sons; Oliver, III & wife Donna, Albert & wife Celia, Collin & wife Sharron and daughter; Cathleen Miller, sister; Mildred Park, 6 grandchildren and by 8 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Graveside funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd. Houston , TX 77030-2008.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Skinner Silva Funeral Home of Edinburg, TX.
