Obituary:

George S. Aldrich, 90, of 1297 North Main St., Slatersville, who had been a superintendent at the former Glenark Mill in Woonscket, died Thursday at Church Creek Retirement Center, Arlington Heights, Ill. He was the husband of Sarah (Gilpin) Aldrich.

Born in Millville, Mass., he was a son of the late William and Florence (Fowler) Aldrich. He lived most of his life in North Smithfield.

Mr. Aldrich received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Massachusett at Amherst in 1925. He had also worked as a chemist for a company in Atlanta, Ga.

He was a member of Slatersville Congregational Church and was a former president of the church men's club. Mr. Aldrich was a 33rd degree Mason, and he was member of the Blackstone River Masonic Lodge and the Yarrab Shriner Temple in Atlanta.

He leaves a son, Robert P. Aldrich of Mt. Prospect, Ill.; a sister Harriet Ames in Connecticut; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Slatersville Congregational Church. Burial will be Union Cemetery, North Smithfield.
