Alexander Aldrich, 82, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 1743 East Spring, following a heart attack. He was a retired telegraph operator for the Pennsylvania Railroad, where he had worked for 40 years. A native of Cayuga, Ind., he had resided in New Albany for the past 60 years. Survivors are his wife, Anna Aldrich; a son, Robert Aldrich; one daughter, Miss Evelyn Aldrich; three brothers, Courtney Aldrich of St. Louis, Mo.; C. C. Aldrich of Indianapolis and Vincent Aldrich of Idaho; one sister, Mrs. Mary Adams of Idaho. - New Albany Tribune 01 Jun 1948
