Another Highly Respected Citizen Gone
James A. Aldrich died Friday June 26 at 9 o'clock a.m. at the home of his son, H. H. Aldrich, 3 mi west of this village. The funeral was held at the house at ten a.m. Saturday. The deceased was a member of F. & A. M. Lodge No. 306 and was buried with masonic honors. He was born in Lewis Co., NY and had lived in the community 13 years. He was esteemed and respected by all who knew him and leaves a widow, two daughters, a son, and many warm friends to mourn his loss.
NOTE: This James A. Aldrich was not a Civil War Veteran, and is not the one mentioned in the flowers below as a Corporal in Co. L 6th Mich Cavalry . That person was James Albert Aldrich, 1842-1921, buried in the South Boston Cemetery, Clarksville, Ionia county, MI, memorial #34581930.
