Memorial services will be held Friday, August 28 at 8 a.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in El Centro for Adolfo Alcala Sr., 62, of El Centro who lost his battle with cancer Friday, August 21. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico.
Adolfo was born October 2, 1946 in Florence, AZ. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1974, was a Vietnam War veteran and also served in Korea and Thailand. Adolfo was a distinguished member of AMVETS Post 94 (Heber, CA) and VFW Post 1637 (Calexico) and retired after a 30 year tenure in government service.
Adolfo is survived by his wife, Nuemi Alcala of El Centro; four children, Adolfo Alcala Jr., Robert De La Cruz, Isabel Elizondo, all of El Centro, and Crystal Howe of Austin, TX; sister, Alicia Hayes of Imperial; aunt, Agripina Alcala; 10 grandchildren; nephews, John Paul Alcala and Mike Alcala and numerous relatives in Arizona.
