GREENSBORO- J. Mack Albright, 80, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Moses Cone Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary, where he was a lifelong member and served as a deacon, elder and trustee. He was also a longtime member of the Sacraments Committee and the Young Men's Bible Class.
Mr. Albright was born Feb. 3, 1926, in Greensboro, the son of the late J. Mack and Bessie Moore Albright.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Mack Albright and his brothers, William M. Albright and John M. Albright.
Mack was employed by Henley Paper Co. for 35 years, until his retirement in 1991. He was a graduate of Greensboro Senior High School and Virginia Tech. Mack served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp during WW II, and again served as a lieutenant during the Korean War. He was a member of the Greensboro Kiwanis Club, and served as a Boy Scout Leader at First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Margaret Hart Albright; son John Edward Albright and wife Melanie; brother Joseph L. Albright and wife Sarah, all of Greensboro; three grandsons, Jake, Sam and Randall; several nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends in the Virginia Gilmer Room at the church following the service.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 617 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC 27401 and to the charity of the donor's choice.
