Bethene was born January 18, 1931 to Ralph Albert and Claribel Friberg Leff in Menlo, Iowa. She was raised in Menlo and attended Menlo High School. At the age of 16 she was united in marriage which later ended in divorce. In 1954, Bethene married Randolph (Randy) Alberts in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They lived in Michigan until moving back to the Menlo area in 1959. Bethene worked in restaurants and Nitter’s Bar until 1968 when she was employed by Multiplex. She worked at Multiplex for 23 years before retiring. Bethene was a member of the First Congregational Church in Stuart, Rebeckas and the First Congregational Church Women’s Fellowship. Bethene loved her church, which was a source of inspiration and hope for her. She enjoyed helping with many of their events throughout the years and was an active member of the funeral dinner committee. Some of Bethene’s hobbies were camping, boating, quilting, playing cards with her girlfriends and listening to bluegrass and gospel music. Bethene’s favorite pastime though, was spending time with her friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Claribel Leff and her beloved husband Randy Alberts.
