Annie Mae Thompson Akins, 86, died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah after a brief illness.

She was a native of Tattnall County, a member of Reidsville Baptist Church and a retired school teacher after 35 years. She was also a member of the Tattnall and Bulloch County Retired Teachers Associations.

Survivors inclucde three sisters, Ruth T. Holmes, Savannah, Ruby T. Smith, Reidsville, and Okie T. Harris, Richmond Hill; and one brother, Ernest E. Thompson, Indianapolis, Ind.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 7-9 p.m.

The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the McCall Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
