STATESBORO -- Mrs. Mytie Akins, 72, died Tuesday at Statesboro Nursing Home after a long illness.
The Bulloch County native lived near Statesboro all of her life and attended Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Chursh.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Jean G. McCorkle of Marietta, Mrs. Nancy Vincent of Jessup and Mrs. Phyllis Thompson of Portal; a son, Harold Seagate; four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Allen, Mrs. Livvie Gay, Mrs. Edna Hotchkiss and Mrs. Cleo Tankersley, all of Statesboro; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral 4 p.m. today at Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Burial in church cemetery.
