Marie J. Akins
Marie J. Akins, 97, died Saturday at Savannah Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center after a long illness.
She was a native of Bulloch County and had lived in Savannah for the past 58 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Arlene A. Lanier and Martha A. Lee, both of Savannah, Sequal A. Fraser, Beaufort, SC and Betsy A. Adams, St. Petersburg, FL; one son, Lee R. Akins, Rincon; one sister, Rosa D. Anderson, Register; 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 4 p.m. at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Eason officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Remembrances may be made to Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church.
