Lewis I. Akins
BLITCHTON -- Lewis I. Atkins, 76, died Sunday after a long illness.
The Bulloch County native lived in Blitchton for several years and was a retired farmer, a retired employee of Union Camp Corp., and a member of Blitchton First Baptist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Ronald Akins of Kansas City, Mo, Ray and Larry Akins, both of Statesboro, and Ralph Akins of Savannah; two sisters, Mrs. Bertie White of Nevils and Mrs. Vivian Hodges of Blitchton; a brother, Darvin P. Akins of Port Wentworth; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Burial in Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bulloch County.
Hodges-Turner Funeral Home in Statesboro in charge of arrangements.
