Rita Faye Butler, 67, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. She was born November 24, 1947 in Douglas, Georgia to the late Olen & Zelda Akins, Sr. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, David Butler, Sr.; son, John Butler, Jr. (Hope); daughter, Christina Butler; brother, Olen Akins, Jr.; sister, Linda Holder (Marty); grandchildren, John Butler III, Melissa Butler, Brian Butler, Dakota Stamper, Gary Stamper, III; 5 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 5 at 11am in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road 32218, with Rev. Terry L. Griffis officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
