Christena R. Akers, 74, of Hewett, W.Va., died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Boone
Memorial Hospital in Madison, W.Va.
Born April 26,1931, she was the daughter of the late M.S. Bias and Leora Baldwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Akers; brothers, Eugene and
Joe Bias; and by a sister, Darlene Hager.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Tommy Hunter of Ashboro,
N.C.; granddaughter, Christy Ann Hunter; brother, J.O. Bias of Huntington, W.Va.;
sisters, Sherry Lynn Ball of Hewett, W.Va., and Ruth Dolin of Madison, W.Va.; and
several nieces and nephews.
The service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison,
W.Va., with the Rev. Roger McCauley and Earl Akers officiating. Burial will be in
Family Gardens, Madison, W.Va.
