Edward H. Akerley, age 79, died on Nov. 6 in St. Petersburg, Fla., after a short illness. He had been employed by the Revere Sugar Co. as a sugar boiler before his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Florence L. Akerley; sons Delmer Akerley of Westwood, Mass., and Donald Akerley of Saugus, Mass.; daughters Florence Gratcy of Weston, Mass., Ruth Shaw of Saugus, Mass., and Jeannette Willett or Rochester, N.Y.

Mr. Akerley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and a member of the Knights of Pythias.

Services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Beals Funeral Home in Medford, Mass. Rev. Alexander Henderson, Pastor Emeritus of the First Baptist of Medford, officiated. Burial was in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody, Mass.
