Clifford married Ruth Larue Ware on June 27, 1923 in Mills County, Iowa.

Clifford and Ruth are the parents of five children:

Funeral services for Clifford D. Aistrope, 89, were Feb. 6, 1987, at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood. Burial at the Malvern Cemetery.

Aistrope was born Oct. 8, 1897 on a farm in Mills County. He attended public schools in Malvern and later at the University of Iowa. He served in the United States Army and was discharged at the end of World War I.

He married Ruth Larue Ware, and the couple had five children.

Cliff was a well known businessman throughout Mills County. Early in his career, he was active in banking in Malvern and Emerson. In 1938 he was elected as the Mills County Treasurer and served in that office until 1946.

In that year, he entered the insurance business, operating under the name of C. D. Aistrope Insurance Agency, until his retirement in 1967.

Aistrope also served as the managing officer of the Mills County Savings and Loan from 1946 to 1962.

He served as a city councilman and was also the mayor of the city of Glenwood.

Cliff was a member of the Congregational Church in Glenwood. He was a 50 year Mason, a Shriner, a charter member of the American Legion.

Cliff was preceded in death by his son, Clifford, Jr., and his wife, Ruth. Surviving are four children, Frederick, Jane, Gregg and Gordon; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
