AIKMAN, Cora Sue - Of Flint, age 78, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at McLaren-Flint.

Funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday, July 23, 2014
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,

Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Carman-Ainsworth Athletics or West Side Church.

Visitation 12-3pm and 5-8pm Tuesday and 12pm Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.

Cora was born on October 13, 1935 to Cora and William Starkey. She graduated from Dye High School in 1953 and worked at General Motors before marrying and raising four children. She attended West Side Church when her health allowed. Cora was a fun-loving, upbeat individual who enjoyed many activities including bingo and going to the casino. She was also a loyal and devoted fan of Carman-Ainsworth Athletics.

She is survived by her children Deborah Oxford (Michelle Marshke), David Oxford, Kenneth Oxford, James D. Oxford and nephew, Thomas Snyder.

Cora was preceded in death by sister, Dorothy and her parents.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Kith Haven Nursing Home staff for their compassionate care these last three years, especially to Wanda and Tammy, Cora's very special care-givers and the activities department.
