He resided in Las Vegas, Nevada for 53 years, returning to Utah in 2007 to live near his daughter and son-in-law, Mickie and Dennis Hansen.
"Bernell" drove truck most of his life and belonged to the Western Conference of Teamster's union. In Las Vegas he drove for Aiken building Products and IML, driving 3,000,000 miles without an accident.
He was proud to serve his country in the Army Air Corps (United States Air Force) and was stationed in Japan during the World War II Occupation of Japan.
He loved everything involving the outdoors and used any excuse to go camping, fishing, and hunting. He taught his daughters a love for all living creatures and the importance of caring for nature.
He has six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren with three more on the way and two great-great grandchildren. Viewing and family memorial services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary, 195 West 100 North, Manti. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. in the Beaver Mountain View Cemetery, 600 North 600 East, Beaver, with military rites. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
