Dolly J. Ahrens, age 75, of Plano, Illinois passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2003 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. She was born on April 22, 1928 in Aurora, Illinois the daughter of Herbert and Maude (Carson) Utley.
Dolly was united in marriage on July 9, 1950 in Yorkville, Illinois to Mr. Glen W. Ahrens Sr. and they spent the next 28 years of their lives together until his passing on July 14, 1978. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Dolly was a former member of the Yorkville Congregational Church in Yorkville, Illinois.
She is survived by her son, Glen "Wally" (Marcia) Ahrens Jr. of Hennepin, IL; her grandchildren, Melissa (Kevin) Severson of Sterling, IL, Christopher Ahrens, and Martin Ahrens of Hennepin, IL; her three great-grandchildren; her sisters, Shirley (Bob) Morganegg of Plano, IL and Maryann Covert of Michigan; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen; and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2003 at Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL with Reverend Sue Wessels officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Yorkville, IL.
Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2003 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville, IL.
