Minnie was united in marriage to Fred Ahrens in 1880 and to them were born twelve children, one son and one daughter passed away a number of years ago. The living children at the time of this writing were William, Edward, and Mrs. R. F. Byram of Redwood Falls, Henry, Charles, Fred, and George of Morton, Mrs Henry Storch of Minneapolis, and John, and Mrs. Theodore Dekuck of Kimberly, Wisconsin.
Mrs. Ahrens passed this life on Monday, 20 July 1925, cause of death being diabetes, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. DeKuck at Kimberly, Wisconsin, surrounded by her daughters, Mrs. DeKuck and Mrs. Byram and sons, George, John, and Edward. Minnie was one of Renville county's oldest pioneers.
The last ten years of her life were spent in Redwood Falls, in the east part of town. Her husband passed away three years prior to her death. She had 3 sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Reincke of Morton, Mrs. Herman Nentke of Renville, and Mrs. L Ristow of Orange, California; one brother, August Bratsch of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; and 23 grandchildren.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. this afternoon at the Christian church conducted by Reverend Gabriel. The Legion Auxiliary, of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body and sent flowers.
The pallbearers were E. A. Pease, H. Huffman, George Eckhart, Walter Marsh, John Schmid, and John Whitcomb.
Burial was made in the local cemetery beside the body of her late husband. She was a good mother and kind neighbor and friend. The sympathy of all was extended to the bereaved family.
