VISTA - William Hidalgo Aguilera, 95, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005.
Born Dec. 30, 1909, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico, he lived in North County since 1920. He was a groundskeeping supervisor for the Carlsbad School District for 25 years.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Vista. He was a longtime nurseryman.
Mr. Aguilera was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Aguilera, on June 9, 2004; and son John Aguilera, May 9, 2004.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, William R. and Nancy Aguilera of Valley Center and Gilbert Aguilera of Vista; daughter and son-in-law Dolores and David Brown of Rancho Bernardo; brother and sister-in-law Joe and Celia Aguilera of Hemet; sisters Cheva Alvarez of Oceanside and Chole Sanchez of Vista; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Viewing is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. and rosary recited at 7 p.m. today, Jan. 20, at Allen Bros. Mortuary, Vista Chapel.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Vista with the Rev. Mel Young officiating.
Burial at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside is planned.
