Del Norte resident Guadalupe Aguilar Hernandez, 82, passed away Oct. 10, 2009 at Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital in Denver. Guadalupe was born Aug. 21, 1927 in Chihuahua, Mexico, the son of Guadalupe Aguilar and Carmen Hernandez Aguilar.
He enjoyed going to bingo, taking walks, drinking coffee, and spending time with his loving family.
Survivors include his life partner Donaciana Benavidez of Del Norte; wife Elvira Aguilar of Center; daughter Maria (Ines) Gardea of Center; sons Adan (Veronica) Aguilar of Center, Jose Luis (Elizabeth) Aguilar of Del Norte, Jose (Anita) Aguilar of Center and Antonio Aguilar of Chihuahua, Mexico; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Eva (Alfonso) Guaderrama of Center, Adela Palacios and Consuelo Granillo both of Chihuahua, as well as by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Guadalupe was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Gilberto and Jose Aguilar, and two sisters Rita and Emilia Aguilar.
A vigil service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Fri., Oct. 16, 2009 at 7 pm at St. Francis Jerome Church in Center. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Sat., Oct. 17, 2009 at 10 am at the church. Interment will follow at Del Norte Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Romero Funeral Home of Monte Vista.
