Geneva K. Willson, 100, Bunker Hill, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord at 10:55 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at Waterford Place Health Campus, Kokomo. She was born April 14, 1916, in Miami County to Earl R. and Hazel S. (Pense) Agness. She married Lawrence Willson on March 22, 1936, in Miami County. He preceded her in death May 19, 1999.
Geneva was a graduate of Clay Township High School, Miami County. She was also a member of Bennetts Switch United Methodist Church, where she served in many capacities. She was a member of the Miami County Farm Bureau and the 7:30 card club. Her greatest love was being a farm wife to Lawrence for 63 years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, writing poetry and being church organist for 25 years. In her earlier years, she worked for Reliance Manufacturing in Kokomo and Orestes Canning Factory in Galveston. Geneva and Lawrence wintered in Bradenton, Florida, where she thoroughly enjoyed playing shuffleboard and won several trophies. She was blessed with a full and happy life and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving family include her son, Edward and Joyce Willson, Galveston, and their children, Beth and Steve Price, Carmel, Donald and Patty Willson, Bunker Hill, Sarah and Daryl Dexter, Union City, Michigan, Allen and Jami Willson, Bunker Hill; her daughter, Waneta and Carl Johnson, Kokomo, and their children, Brad and Wendy Johnson, Galveston, Lynda and Mark Chapman, Noblesville; a son-in-law, Dick Fawcett, Stuart, Florida, and his children, David Fawcett, Stuart, Florida, and Kent and Danielle Fawcett, Canton, Georgia. Also surviving are 23 great-grandchildren and one brother, Eugene Agness, Bradenton, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, daughter Anna Jane Fawcett, granddaughter Cheryl Johnson and three sisters, Buelah Harts, Ruthanna Borden and Carolyn Einselen, and four brothers, Mark, Herman, Thurman and Richard Agness.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston, with the Rev. Norm Snyder and the Rev. Daryl Dexter officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Thursday until the time of services at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bennetts Switch United Methodist Church. Murray Weaver Funeral Home, Galveston, assisted her family with arrangements.
