Mrs. Amy Agard died Tuesday evening about ten o'clock at the Old Soldiers' Home in Marshalltown. Mrs. Agard was taken there a few weeks ago, and last week her children were called on account of serious illness.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon from the home at 2 o'clock and 2:30 from the Christian church. Obituary next week. -Goldfield

Obituary

Mrs. Amy Agard who has been gradually failing in health for some time, passed away June 26th, at the Marshalltown hospital where she had been receiving treatment for several weeks. At the time of her death she was in her seventy-fifth year, nearly all of her life having been spent in this place. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Gray were Wright county pioneers.

She was married to Clarence Agard, and to this union six children were born, two having preceeded their mother in death, Carl dying in 1904 at the age of twenty-eight, and Harry in 1918 at the age of thirty-eight. George and Earl are living in Goldfield and Florence Sherman and Claude are residents of Eagle Grove. Mrs. Agard was always an active worker in the Relief Corps and Ladies Aid. Several grandchildren, six sisters and one brother of the deceased survive her. William Gray, her brother, resides in Ceylon, Minn., Mrs. L. A. McIntyre, a sister, in Goldfield, Mrs. Hartman and Mrs. Galbroith of Marshfield, Mo., Mrs. Crocker of Yued, Oklahoma, Mrs. Beck of Los Angeles and Mrs. Kaine of Eureka, Calif.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. S. Nicholson and were held Friday afternoon at the Christian church. The Rebekah lodge of which the deceased was a member assisted in the funeral and burial service. Burial was made in Glenwood cemetery. Mrs. Agard will be remembered as a loving mother, a kind neighbor and friend by those who knew her. -Goldfield
