Charles Agard of Coin died Thursday at 2 p.m. after a short siege of pneumonia fever.

Mrs. Agard, his wife, died at 11 a.m. Saturday, twenty-four hours after taking two capsules filled with "Rough on Rats" thus within the short space of less than three days the Agard family passed out of existence.

The only child of the Agard family, a boy in the teens, accidentally killed himself with a gun while the family was jouring in the state of Colorado some three years ago.

The tragic ending of the boy had a telling affect on the mind of Mrs. Agard and she often expressed herself that she did not care to live any longer and the sudden death of her husband, coupled with the her former trouble was more than she was willing to bear.

Not one of the neighbors who were present, assisting in
the preparation of Mr. Agards body for burial suspicioned that Mrs. Agard was in such a desperate frame of mind and not until several minutes after she had taken the deadly poison did anyone realize that she was soon to be a corpse by a premeditated act on her own part.

After taking the poison the troubled woman asked to be allowed to view the face of her dead husband. The request was granted and it was while she was standing over the lifeless form of her beloved one that she began to show symptoms of what she had done.

Within a few minutes she was violently ill and a dispatch was sent to Dr. McCurry at Alpena who came post haste but he could only administer local relief and the victim died at 11 a.m. Saturday and was buried beside her husband in Long Creek cemetery near Denver.

The body of Mr. Agard had been buried on Friday evening.

Such a sad state of affairs.
