Geraldine Agans
1929 - 2014

Geraldine M. "Gerry" Agans, age 84 of Albia, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Gerry was born Nov. 19, 1929, to Vernon and Ical (Goodwin) Foster in Monroe County. She married Everette Wayne Agans on February 3, 1952 in Knoxville. They shared 46 years of marriage before Everett's passing on May 18, 1998.

A graduate of Albia High School, Gerry worked as a secretary for Chariton Valley Electric, Monroe County Department of Social Services Office and was a teller for First Iowa State Bank in Albia.

Gerry was a member of the First Christian Church in Albia. She liked to play the organ, crochet, and knit. She also enjoyed traveling and going to Hardee's for coffee.

Gerry is survived by (omitted for privacy).

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2014, at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Pastor Lynda Carlson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak View Cemetery in Albia.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Gerry's family present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Albia.
