The funeral for Cecil Adkins, 69, was held Tuesday, June 16, 1998 in the Chapel of Walker Funeral Home in Smithville. Lonnie Buser and Reed Arnold officiated and burial was in Whorton Springs Cemetery.Β­
He died Sunday, June 14, 1998 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He was a resident of Toad Road in Smithville, a retired employee of Avco Aierostructers in Nashville, a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and a member of the New Home Baptist Church. His parents were the late William and Martha Pack Adkins. He was also preceeded in death by his first wife, Elsie Adkins; one brother: Virgle Adkins; four sisters: Ova Lee Murphy, Rosie Nell Adkins, Willie Mae Murphy, and Vada Mable Johnson.
Mr. Adkins is survived by his wife, Faye Adkins of Smithville; one son and daughter-in-law: Eddie and Karen Adkins of Dowelltown; one step-son; Bobby Stage of Las Vegas, Nevada; one step-daughter: Doris Linn of Dowelltown; one sister-in-law: Corrine Adkins of Lebanon; one granddaughter: Amy Adkins of Dowelltown; three step- grandchildren: Christina Stage of Las Vegas, Nevada, Nicole and Brittnee Linn both of Dowelltown.
Walker Funeral Home of Smithville was in charge of arrangements.
