Mrs. Adkins was born in Lawrence County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Jay and Flossie Wellman.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Wellman, Kenneth Wellman, and Lucian Wellman and Lucian's wife, Willie Wellman.
Survivors include her husband, Harris Adkins of Columbus; one son, Gail H. (Susan) Adkins of LaGrange, Georgia; one sister, Mary (Gary) Blake; three brothers, Buell (Maxine) Wellman, Lon Wellman, and Loran (Eskelay) Wellman; one sister-in-law, Reva Wellman; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Cole) Maddox of Atlanta, Georgia, and Sarah Adkins of Sharpsburg, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Richard Hensley Saturday, August 21, at Graumlich and Son Funeral Home, Columbus.
Burial was in Obetz Cemetery, Columbus
