Kae Allen Adkerson, 74, of Petersburg, died at 7:28 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Petersburg, IN, February 3, 1935, to Frank and Josie Kime Adkerson. A former Navy veteran, was owned and operated Adkerson Brothers Garage in Petersburg where he worked as a mechanie. He was a member of Petersburg VFW, Hadi Shrine of Evansville, and served on the Petersburg City Council for many years. Surviving are his wife, Sue (Burkhart) Adkerson of Petersburg, a cousin, Pat Thomas of Petersburg, and nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Earl, Harry, and Oswald Adkerson, and one sister, LaVon A. Tilley, preceded him in death. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. (EST) Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 at Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Kamman officaiting. Burial was in White River Chapel Cemetery in Bowman where military rites were conducted by Petersburg VFW Post #3587.
