"Ozzie Adkerson
Ozzie Adkerson, 78, of Petersburg, died at 10:33 a.m. September 30, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Petersburg, January 16, 1928, the son of Thomas Frank and Josie Kime Adkerson. Adkerson, a World War II veteran, formerly worked as a mechanic at Adkerson Brothers Garage. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1617, VFW Post 3587 and the American Legion in Oakland City. Surviving are his fiancée, Fay Wilcoxen of Petersburg; a brother, Kae Adkerson of Petersburg; and a sister, Lavon A Tiley of Burns, TN. His parents and two brothers, Earl and Harry Adkerson preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. Pilgrim Degree Moose service was conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial was at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time at the funeral home."
