A. Alice Aderhold, 69, of Route 87 Highway, Montoursville, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at The Gatehouse Hospice.

Alice had provided home health care and retired in 2006 from the Becht Elementary School as the head cook and manager of the cafeteria. She was a member of American Legion Post 617, the Zafar Grotto and its String Band and loved music and dancing. Her humor and love of her family will be missed.

Born October 28, 1941 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Jonathan Nathaniel and Flossie Cora Wettlaufer Bennett.

Surviving are sons, David Mayer of Muncy, Jonathan Mayer of Cogan Station and Steven Mayer of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Alisa A. Robson of Williamsport; stepchildren, Edward, Robert, Brian and Deborah Aderhold and Donna Gumm; brothers, Kenneth Bennett of Birdsboro and Robert Bennett of Burke, Va.; sisters, Mary Helen Ohnmeiss of Angola, NY, her twin, Violet Kurtz of Duboistown and Betty Hamilton of Cogan Station; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Alice was predeceased by her husband, Edward D. Aderhold; siblings, Jack Bennett and Ruth Bay and her stepmother, Lydia R. Bennett.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Stoltz Cemetery.
