It was originally published as United States Government Serial Numbers 2078-2082, Senate Executive Document 84, Parts 1-5, 47th Congress, 2d session. United States Pension Bureau, Washington, 1883.

It was reprinted with an added table of contents by the genealogical Publishing Company of Baltimore in 1970.

The companies for the 145th regiment were recruited as follows:

• Company A - Erie County
• Company B - Erie County
• Company C - Erie County
• Company D - Erie County
• Company D - Erie County
• Company E - Warren County
• Company G - Mercer County
• Company H - Crawford
• Company I - Erie County

Bessie Prindle Henderson had noted in a letter that William had served in the Civil War and had escaped from Andersonville Prison.
