A native of Gordon County, Ga., Mrs. Addis was born on Feb. 7, 1938, the daughter of the late Lewis G. and Edna Worley Poole. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for the greater part of her life and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Addis had been associated with Suhner Manufacturing for over 15 years. She loved children and yardwork and enjoyed listening to country music. Mrs. Addis was preceded in death by her husband, George Walker Addis, on March 20, 1995, to whom she was married on Oct 10, 1988. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Margaret Ann Hulsey, in 1978.
Mrs. Addis is survived by three sisters, Juanita Atcheson and Hazel Smith, both of Rome, and Virginia Bowling of Broadway, N.C.; two grandsons, Chris Hulsey and Nelson Hulsey, both of Cedartown; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside and interment services for Mrs. Addis will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Floyd Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend the service should meet at the cemetery on Wednesday at 1:45 p.m.
Mes. Addis will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home, 2516 New Calhoun Highway, where the family will receive friends this evening from 6 p.m until 8 p.m. At other hours they may be contacted at the residence of her sister, Juanita Atcheson, 40 Burnett Ferry Road, Rome.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd, Suite 280, Kennesaw, GA 30144, in memory of Mrs. Addis.
Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home, 2516 New Calhoun Highway, has charge of the arrangements for the funeral of Mrs. Wilma Jo Addis.
