Wonnie Flora Plunkett, 85, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at her home after a long illness. She was born Dec. 15, 1914, in the Bethlehem community of Monroe County to Elzie Houston and Leanna Jane Kennedy Addington. She attended Oak Hill School. She had lived in Smithville since 1971. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and flower gardening. She married Clarence Rankin Plunkett on Sept. 15, 1940; he died Feb. 27, 1999.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Dr. Conan Doyle and Bro. Garland Jones officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Kaye Plunkett of Marshfield, Mo., and Danny and Cairon Plunkett of Fulton; three daughters, Nell Plunkett of Smithville, Sheryl Chambers of Clanton, Ala., and Joyce Guyton and her husband, Gredel, of Smithville; three brothers, Dow Addington and Olen Addington, both of Amory, and Dexter Addington of Smithville; two sisters, Velda Hetland of Amory and Bernice Roberts of Phoenix, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Terri Lynn Cox.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, John Addington and Arthur Addington; three sisters, Zora Mae Hughes, Dorothy Addington and Velma Addington; and a granddaughter, Mary Joyce Ray.

Pallbearers will be Truman, Travis and Clayton Dulaney; Nathan Sartin; Tim Prestridge; Brian Plunkett; Jeff Martin; and Jeff Plunkett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Williams, Mike Huey, Andy Gosa, Terry Cummings, Jamie Capps and Gredel Guyton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
