Herbert Alton Adcock, a resident of Wilson County, Texas, passed away on Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at 8:55 a.m., in the Stockdale Nursing Center in Stockdale, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 23 days.
He was born on April 14, 1920, to Luther and Maude Burns Adcock in Wilson County. He attended school in the old schoolhouse in La Vernia.
He was a tire salesman and a resident of Bexar County for many years, before returning to Wilson County in 1993. He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs.
Herbert married Maxine “Tiny” Mills on Oct. 27, 1938, in Sutherland Springs. Maxine, Herbert’s beloved wife of more than 62 years, preceded him in death on June 19, 2001.
In addition to his wife, Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and three brothers.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.
Funeral services began at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment followed in the Sutherland Springs Cemetery in Sutherland Springs.
