BOWLING GREEN - Adamson, Billy R., 65, died June 20, 2011. J.C. Kirby & Son, Lovers Lane

Billy R. Adamson, 65, of Bowling Green, died at 8:31 p.m. June 20, 2011, at The Medical Center. The Warren County native was an Army veteran, serving in Vietnam in the 577th and 578th Signal Corps. He was the owner and operator of Home Repair Service and a Warren County school bus driver. He was a son of the late Adron "Shorty" Adamson and Tenney Minnix Adamson. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther Ray Adamson and William Adamson; a sister, Martha Jean Adamson; and his mother- and father-in-law, Emma and Harry Davis. Funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Pleasant Church of Christ, where he was a longtime member and devoted song leader, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Lovers Lane chapel, and begins at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mount Pleasant Church of Christ Building Fund, 10219 Ky. Hwy. 185, Bowling Green, KY 42101. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Geynita Adamson; two daughters, Melanie Sanders and her husband, Eric, of Miesau, Germany, and Misty Dawn Adamson of Bowling Green; a brother, Virgil Adamson and his wife, Norma Jean, of Rockfield; a special sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Nevel; three grandchildren, Thorin, Riot and Gunnar; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
