Edna Lucille Banks, passed away at the Continental Care Center in Seymour, Iowa, on Nov. 18, 2009. Edna was born on Dec. 18, 1913, and passed away, just one month from her 96th birthday.
She was born to Charles Elza(C.E.)and Stella Belle(Musgrove)Adamson near Omaha, Mo. She attended school at Chariton, Mo. She lived and worked in Centerville, following her school years. There she met her future husband Lloyd(Beanie)Banks.
Lloyd and Edna traveled to Des Moines to attend the Iowa State Fair on August 28, 1935. In Des Moines they planned to find a Justice of the Peace to marry them. It was more difficult than they had planned and by late that evening with the help of Lloyd's uncle they were married in Adel.

They lived and farmed in Appanoose County until they purchased their farm southwest of Seymour, in 1941, living there until their retirement in 1975. The years following retirement they lived in Sewal and Corydon, before moving to the Continental Care Center in Seymour.
Edna was a homemaker and Lloyd's helpmate on the farm. She was a member of the Seymour Methodist Church and Walnut-Monroe Community Club. After retirement she enjoyed volunteering at the Prairie Trails Museum and served on the museum board for 20 years. She loved restoring, buying and selling antiques, and attending auctions. She enjoyed her family and extended family, always preparing good food for family gatherings.

Edna is survived by her husband of 74 years, Lloyd; son, Gary(Sandra)of Seymour, daughter, Sherry Johnson(Richard), of Naples, Florida; five grandchildren: Martin(Tanya)Hall, Lisa(Rich)Carter, Marla(Steve)Wiedenmann, Beth(Tony)Mnnella, and Justin(Kristie)Banks; 13 great-grandchildren: Colby and Chloe Hall; Sarah and Smantha Carter; Zachary and Luke Wiedenmann; Patrick and Miranda Mannella; Tyler, Jonathan, Nicholas, Joshua and Alyssa Banks: two great-great granddaughter: Laudia Carter and Piper Jones, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Proceeded her in death was her parents and infant sister; brother: Claude and Glenn Adamson; sisters: Bessie Felkner, Vera Davis, Edith Norris, Jessie Lawson: an infant daughter, Patricia Carol and great-grandson, Seth Carter.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, Nov. 24, from the Randolph Funeral Home, Seymour. Officiating will be Pastor Bill Lammatteo-Code, with vocalist Don Liggett accompanied by pianist Mary Parker. Musical selections are "In The Garden" and "On Eagles's Wings". Pallbearers are: Martin Hall, Rich Carter, Steve Wiedenmann, Tony Mannella, Justin Banks and John Banks. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Centerville. Iowa.
