L. D. Adams, 93, of Lexington, MO, died at 11:50 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Lexington Care Center in Lexington, MO. L. D. was born on November 26, 1916 in Plainview, Arkansas to Frank O. and Fannie (Crabill) Adams. He married Doris Lee Bliss of Maryville, MO on February 21, 1944. She preceded him in death on July 19, 2009. Survivors include; one son and one daughter-in-law, Rick and Beverly Adams of Hamilton, MO, and one grandson, Lee Adams of Springfield, MO. In addition to his parents and wife, L. D. was preceded in death by his step-mother, Virginia Adams. L. D. was a signalman for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad for forty years before he retired in 1976. He was a seventy year member of the Active Lodge #158 A. F. and A. M. in Atchison, Kansas. He was active in Boy Scouts and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a member of the Lexington First Baptist Church. He had lived in Lexington, MO most of his life. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Lexington First Baptist Church or to Preferred Hospice in Lexington.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, MO. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, where Masonic services will be held at 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lexington, MO.
