Darlene Guilbeau Adams, 51, a native of Houma and resident of Lafayette died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008.

Visitation was at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. Mass was at the Chauvin Funeral Home chapel, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, William "Buba" Adams, of Lafayette; her mother, Dorothy Dail, of Houma; her father and stepmother, Fercy Guilbeau Sr. and Betty Guilbeau; two sons, Brenton Wade "Bubba" King III and William Claude Adams Jr., both of Lafayette; one daughter, Kayla King Cheramie and husband, Dalen Cheramie, of Houma; two brothers, Ferris Guilbeau of Cumming, Ga., and Fercy Guilbeau Jr., of Houma; one sister, Myrtle Guilbeau Babin and husband David Babin Sr. of Houma; three grandchildren, Cullen Wade Songy, Kaden Wade King and Bryce Anthony Cheramie; four nephews, David Babin Jr., Ross Guilbeau, Fercy Guilbeau III and James Adams Jr.; three nieces, Shelly Babin Fontenot, Sarah Guilbeau and Amanda Nash; one great-nephew, Finn Babin Fontenot; her mother-in-law, Hattie Nelwyn Adams; and one brother-in-law, James "Bull" Adams and wife, Debbie Adams.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alphie and Ursula Lasseigne and Nicholas and Elena Hayes Guilbeau; her stepmother, Blanch Guilbeau; her stepfather, Sammy Dail; and her father-in-law, James Rayburn Adams.

She worked for Textbook Rentals in Lafayette and was an avid football fan. She loved her family and enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She will be loved and greatly missed by her family and everyone who knew her.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
