James Foley Adams age 74, of Bimble, was born on January 16, 1941 in Barbourville. He was a son of the late Ernest Adams and Patty Hall Adams. Mr. Adams died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in the Knox County Hospital.

He was a member of the East Barbourville Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Kentucky Utilities.

On June 25, 1961, he united in marriage to Rose Adams and to this union a beloved son and daughter were born.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a Son-in-law, Rick Gambrel and Brothers-in-law, Gene Bannister and Denny Miller.

Mr. Adams is survived by his dear wife, Rose of Bimble; his children; daughter, Christine Hammons and husband, Otis of Hinkle; son; James Foley Jr. and wife, Renee of Gray; his eight grandchildren; Tiffany, Christopher, Jeffrey, Janae, April and husband, Garrett, C.J., Candace Willis and husband, Michael and Kyle; his two great grandchildren; Cadience and Emersyn; his sisters; Gwen Bannister of Trinidad, Colorado; Karen Miller of Bimble; his brothers;Kenneth Adams and wife, Wilma of Flat Lick; Hobert Adams and wife,Faye of Barbourville and David Adams of Harlan, Kentucky.

Funeral Services for James Foley Adams will be conducted at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Josh Smith and Rev. James Vandy officiating. Burial will follow at the Barbourville Cemetery with, Denny Ray Miller, Michael Miller, David Wayne Adams, Kenny Adams, Mark Adams and Greg Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Mr. Adams church family, all employees of Kentucky Utilities,Knox County Home Health, Baptist Health Oncology Staff. Dr. Bobby Turner and Dr. Raju Vora. Friends will be received at the Hopper Funeral Home Friday after 6:00 pm and Saturday after 10:00 am until the funeral hour at 1:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
