Celebration of the life of Doretha E. Adams (nee Price), who went home to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Strong Tower Christian Fellowship Church, 90 S. Ridgewood Ave., Ormond Beach, with the Rev. Paul Strickland officiating. Interment will follow at Volusia Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, and Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Adams was born in Chester, Pa., and moved to this area in 1994 from Philadelphia, Pa. She was a member of Strong Tower Christian Fellowship Church, Ormond Beach, and Theater Workshop of Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center. A homemaker, she loved writing, singing, dancing and performing and playing with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Webster; three sons, Webster Jr., Philadelphia, Stacey, Philadelphia, and Vernon, Ormond Beach; four daughters, Maria Roxanne Fersner, Cheltenham, Pa., Angela Sherlene Kennerly, Ormond Beach, Dawn F. Adams Abraham, Philadelphia, and Jinine Adams Tarry, Orlando; brother, Horace Hodges, Delaware; sister, Cleonus Hodges, Chester; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
