Israel Leonard Adams, born on 18 January 1898, the youngest of eight children born to Franklin Oliver Adams and Susan Hawkins Magruder (Drake) Adams, died on 14 March 1900 at his parents' residence in Waterproof, Louisiana. His remains were shipped to Natchez via the Steamer St. Joseph the following day, where they were interred in the City Cemetery.

The remains of Leonard Adams, infant son of Mr. F. O. Adams was brought down on steamer St. Joseph today for interment. The little fellow died at his father's home in Waterproof, La. yesterday, in the 2d year of his age."
