Life-Long Pittsburgher Was From Many Years Manufacturer of Glass

"Adolphus Augustus Adams, a member of one of the pioneer families of the Southside, died yesterday in his home, 369 Boquet street, Oakland, after an illness of several months. he was born in Pittsburgh September 2, 1851, son of the late John and Mary Adams, and had resided in Pittsburgh since.

He was engaged with his father in the manufacture of glassware for many years as John Adams & Company, and was a member of the firm until 35 years ago when the factory was sold to a combine. After retiring from the glass business, he was engaged in the brokerage business, and retired from business a few months ago.

At the time of his death he was president of the Southside Cemetery; a member of Birmingham Lodge no. 248, Odd Fellows; The Americus Club and the Baptist Church.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Martha Pyrnell Adams; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Deens of Beaver, Miss Jean Adams a missionary of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Foochow, China, and Mrs. John Wilson of Pittsburgh.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. Interment will be in the Southside cemetery."
